The Making of BBC1's "Roadkill"

In late December 2019, our new MD Sebastian was contracted to provide conducting tuition to Saskia Reeves, who was in the process of filming a new BBC1 drama. In the show, she plays a choral conductor who happens to be the wife of senior Tory politician. As discussions progressed, it appeared that the BBC would also need a choir for the filming, and Sebastian very kindly suggested HCS.

So in early January 2020 (before the lockdown!), we were visited by a sound engineer who recorded us singing a couple of choruses from Handel's MESSIAH, and then a week or so late around 30 of us were taken by coach to Sunbury on Thames. Here we spent the whole day shooting a couple of scene for the production, but were sworn to secrecy until the  drama was broadcast. The 4-part series was broadcast in October in 2020 on BBC1.
