Sat 14th May 2022

7.30pm, State Hall, Heathfield

Concert - A Walk to the Paradise Garden

Paul Carr's Requiem for an Angel is the main work in this celebration of English music. Written in memory of the composer's mother, it combines texts from the Requiem Mass in English and Latin with poetry by Emily Dickinson and Jack Carson, in music which is instantly appealing as well as deeply moving. The soloists will be Sian Dicker (soprano) and René Bloice-Sanders (baritone). We will also be singing Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music, set to an excerpt from Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, along with Frank Bridge's A Prayer. The SouthEast Sinfonia will also be playing Delius' A Walk to the Paradise Garden.
